Intuition

Sweltering Heat. It was a furnance outside. She preferred staying indoors in the comfort of her airconditioned room. There was no sign of rain. It was a day like any other month of june.

In the evening, when  it was cooler, she stepped outside. Looking up she saw the dark clouds hovering overhead. The winds had changed their direction. Was it a sign of something in store? she kept these thought to herself and kept on walking.

Little drops of rain. She looked up once again. It wasn't windy at all but the sky had started to rumble. It seemed as if something was getting crushed and being ripped into pieces. Thunderstorm. There was something in that  sound that always scared her. She couldn't figure out what it was.  I hope it's nothing to worry about, she muttered to herself as she made her way home, almost running to safety.

These uncanny feelings she got, always unnerved her. Her sixth sense told her, something is majorly wrong.  Is it to do with the people she loved?

This was no ordinary change in weather. Kuch unhoni ka sanket? No no can't be. She told herself. Think positive, she kept telling herself. Soon it started to rain.

The rain had a calming effect on her. She slept off peacefully but morning had a different story to tell. She woke up to a a devasting piece of news that had occurred in some other country. It wasn't to do with her loved one's.  It was everything to do with love, friendships, peace and humanity. Damn...these intuitions, she thought.

A silent prayers was said for the lives lost.

People will go on to lead their lives, she later told herself aloud but the question that kept dangling in her head was the one that didn't let her sit still - Will there ever be co-existence and harmony between people of different religion, caste or creed . Will they ever be able to live as one and how can I make a difference?

She had a lot of soul searching to do.
