Short Story : Focus and Concentration

On Focus and Concentration

She was nervous and scared. This was the first time, she was walking on the path less travelled. It was way past her bed time and she was no where near completing her to-do list for the day. She was tired, dreary and worn out and needed a good night sleep. Strangely, sleep eluded her. A haunting flute melody could not bring her to close her eyes. As she, ventured out in the meadows, she saw a young rugged looking boy playing the flute. He kept on playing and she kept on walking, memorised by the melody. As she approached him, she looked at him very intently. The boy must have been around 6 years old....and he played with immense concentration. She got the biggest shock of her life when he opened his eyes. He couldn't speak. he spoke to her in a sign language and told her that he was sorry if he woke her up but this is what he loved doing and this is what he did when he had the time for he wanted to play the flute when he grew up...whatever he learnt was on his own for no body would be willing to teach him without any money and money was what he did not have. he asked her if she would help him. the girl was helpless and didnt know what to say. the boy smiled and started playing again and that's when the girl realised...all it requires is focus and concentration to make your career goals, a reality.
