Dance on
They were the passionate one and all they wanted to seek was learnings and knowledge. They were possessive about the skills they had and wanted. Dancing was the only thing they knew and what it meant to them, no body could know or understand. It was something that gave them the inner gratifaction. It was expression. It was release. It's what they found solace in. It was their moment of together - them and their dance. Dance - that was the only thing for which they gave it their heart. For you see their love for dancing was something that remained with them. It was so precious a love for them.

Lens
She loved capturing scenery, life etc. From the lens, she could see the beauty that existed, otherwise invisible to the naked eye. The lens of the camera was the doorway to her heart. Moments captured later became memories, she would pour through and relive the same...moments she held close to our hearts, moments that made her come alive. #words #writing
Poem : Words
In numbness, in loneliness, in pain
In happiness, in joy aplenty
In madding crowd, in solace
In noise, in silence
Words that resonated
Words that healed
Written words
Spoken words
Unsaid words
Finding herself
Losing herself
Life.
Best kept secrets
Worst fears
Dreams
Hopes and Desire
Longingness
Love that last
Fairy tales
Superheroes
Reality
The world of books took her to a different space.

Poem : Moments
A slight breeze
The first drop of rain
The fragrance of wet mud
Sunsets
Sunrises
Chirping of the birds
Kids playing football.
Footprints in the sand
Waves washing the sand away
Sand castles
laughter of kids somewhere nearby
Or kids bathing in the sea water
Innocence
Love
The sound of the waves hitting the rocks
Moonlight on the sea on a dark night
Rays of the sun in the water on a warm day
Soothing to the soul and the heart
Feelings that get lost somewhere
Stories that the sea side tells
Stop. Pause. Breathe.
Life is filled with many small moments as these.

Poem : a night like this
The roads led her to this place again
Where she had once met herself
More than a year had passed
Since she experienced the moments of life
The unsaid moments
One’s that made her feel alive
A lot had changed since then...
soft breeze
on a summery night
Less people on the walkway
Yet there was life
And stories too
Stories of hope, courage, love and survival
and those of hurt, anger and betrayal
Stories of love lost
and of love that won
Stories of a day that had passed by
Silence amidst the laughter
Silence otherwise
Broken paths
Yet they walked on
Life.
It was a night like this
When the stars shone bright
And the sea had a calming effect on her.
Where she had once met herself
More than a year had passed
Since she experienced the moments of life
The unsaid moments

Raat ki khamoshi
raat ki khamoshi na jaane kaun si baat chupa rahee hai.samundar ke kinare, jab paani in paon ko choota hai,na jaane yeh leher kya dhun gun guna rahe hain. chand ki roshni padh rahee hai paani par aur uskee parchayee bata rahee hai mujhe -kuch ankahee baatein; kuch ansunee baatein.
Khamoshi
Unkee khamoshi ne bhi bahut kuch keh diya humhain...lafzon main jo baat bayaan na kar paye, unki/meri aankhon main padh liya humne/usne....yeh chand ki roshni keh rahee thi humse, kar le yakeen apne dil par, thoda sa aitbaar to kar uspar...
Time
Time had passed but even today, the feelings hadn't faded away. They both though, put a stone in their heart, for each others happiness, thinking that's the only way, the other would be happy, not realizing that they were each other's happiness. Time still stood still each time they met. It was always a wonder to others how they read the pain in each others eyes and how they understood each other's silence and the beauty of their friendship was the unsaid connection. Hence, it was always a wonder to others why they wouldn't end up together. It was as they simply put it - the fear off losing the other and the friendship, if they ever did end up together.
Solitude
Solitude. The sea had a calming effect on her, just like the mountains. The sea and the mountains- the two places where you could see her inner child come out alive. Both places reminded her of the vastness that life had to offer and in its beauty. #waterbaby #seasidestories #mountainstories
Monsoon diaries
Reading and for a minute I put the book away. I sit by the window, lost in my thoughts. There is a dash of lightning. In the dark skies, there is light. I get up to return to my book. The sound of pitter patter hits the ground and takes my attention away. I run to the window. Can it be raining? There is laughter outside. I look out. Down below, kids are jumping in joy, there is singing too as travellers are getting wet...ah, simple joys of life. I turn my face away. I want to run out but I restrain myself. I glance towards the window and I look outside yet again. A smile engulfs my face.
Thunderstorm. Rain is finally here. In times like this, I wish I could capture this moment. No wifi but that's immaterial now. I don't lose my cool.
In the silence of the night, there is magic. The universe has crafted a story of its own.
The heart suddenly seems lighter now. Ah, the calming effect of the rain. There is hope and love after all.
The wonders of the universe - so mystical and so magical.

Intuition
Sweltering Heat. It was a furnance outside. She preferred staying indoors in the comfort of her airconditioned room. There was no sign of rain. It was a day like any other month of june.
In the evening, when it was cooler, she stepped outside. Looking up she saw the dark clouds hovering overhead. The winds had changed their direction. Was it a sign of something in store? she kept these thought to herself and kept on walking.
Little drops of rain. She looked up once again. It wasn't windy at all but the sky had started to rumble. It seemed as if something was getting crushed and being ripped into pieces. Thunderstorm. There was something in that sound that always scared her. She couldn't figure out what it was. I hope it's nothing to worry about, she muttered to herself as she made her way home, almost running to safety.
These uncanny feelings she got, always unnerved her. Her sixth sense told her, something is majorly wrong. Is it to do with the people she loved?
This was no ordinary change in weather. Kuch unhoni ka sanket? No no can't be. She told herself. Think positive, she kept telling herself. Soon it started to rain.
The rain had a calming effect on her. She slept off peacefully but morning had a different story to tell. She woke up to a a devasting piece of news that had occurred in some other country. It wasn't to do with her loved one's. It was everything to do with love, friendships, peace and humanity. Damn...these intuitions, she thought.
A silent prayers was said for the lives lost.
People will go on to lead their lives, she later told herself aloud but the question that kept dangling in her head was the one that didn't let her sit still - Will there ever be co-existence and harmony between people of different religion, caste or creed . Will they ever be able to live as one and how can I make a difference?
She had a lot of soul searching to do.

Poem : heart and mind tussle
The tussle between the heart and mind is such
A battle strong
What you feel versus what you know
Confusion
Conflict
The heart and the mind
And it’s inner working
Within the depths of your life
The answers reside
The heart and the mind
Two parts brought together as one
Through a stream of blood
Unifying as one
Practicality and emotions
Thought and Feeling
Yet the tussle remains
Strange.

Just a random thought
Rain : a sunny smile for them both
Books : their common passion
Coffee : what they both loved
Silence : a language that they both understood
Yet no one could believe nor understand why they were arch rivals to begin with.

Random Mumbling : the story
It was just another day...before the rain was sunshine or after the rain was sunshine...depends which way you looked at it...the trees were witnessed to now what was history and history that was being created....natural habitat for some...heavenly paradise for some...the path to walk upon to reach the destination for a few...and for most, a journey....the roads were empty and long...but they had a story to tell...it were the roads that were traversed upon...each vehicle having a story...a story of hope may be. A story of belief. A story of love. A story of memories, ever lasting memories. #throwback #traveltales #drive #song #picture #travel #holiday #hills #forestroads #scenery #view #nature #peace #environment #solitude
Random Mumbling : Let’s weave a story of our own
He was on bended knees with a rose in his hand. She saw the rose and smiled. He pulled her closer to him and whispered in her ear - will u grow old with me, dear? She smiled coyly and ruffled his hair and replied - the best love stories are not romeo-juliet, heer-ranjha, sameer-anarkali, laila-majnu but the ones where we grow old together. Let's weave a story of our own.
Random Mumblings - Airport
Airports...different expressions, varied footsteps, run ways - the home for aircraft...landing or then taking off...a stretch that seems never ending...the feeling that the green pastures out there are calling out to you, speaking to you about the joys of the skies...raindrops pouring and no the vision doesn't get hazy..raindrops on the roofs dealing the announcements...the frosty mirrors where tails are just visible and planes awaiting in queue for take offs...some things can't be captured but they get etched in your minds forever
Poem : Freedom
The silence of the night had a story of its own
It's had its wound, it was scarred for life
It lay quietly beneath its wrap..it was a mystery unknown
No one knew of the silence
that was screaming out loud
It wanted to tell what it went through the day
But people lay in their security of their homes
unknown to the words that rave, ranted and spoke
No one knew of the blood, tears and wails
Or rather may be one preferred to look the other way
Smiling and cheering on
As feats were accomplished
They felt awaited a new dawn.
But the night wanted to say, how it reached there
It was in shame, as the stars and the moon shone bright
It couldn't take their smile despite their years
As they twinkled on
How could one be so strong?
It was their strength that was killing the night from inside
It tried to gathered the courage to come out and speak
It didn't have the power of the pen
It had just to rely on its words
It was the truth, the night wanted to say
The truth was hard and would come with a cost
It was the cost it was willing to pay
The world needed to know what it went through
From blue to black, it was now alone
The grey clouds were teasing her
It was as if they were challenging her
She needed to speak up and now was the time
Else it will too late
And it will just go on
As the laughter immersed from the buildings so tall
And a night light shone from the Chawls below
The night choked and how
Thunder and storm made its way, the waves hitting the rocks
Speak up night, oh you must
Tell the world what you went through
The eyes are clouded with doubts and despair
They need to open up to faith and belief
If you keep quiet now
It will be the end
It's a story that needs to be told
Words that need to unfold
And then so the night began....
As the sun rose and I was a mix of red and blue,a lady had made her way
To plough the field and earn some bread
It may be the last bread, she could ever make
Unknown to the news, her boy had packed his bag, he has just got a call to serve the country from a potential attack
And as he bade his sister a good bye
Unaware that hours later, she would get raped
By men who have no guilt, remorse or shame.
She would lay naked and no one would come forward to help
Pictures would be taken
And outcry would be there
But no one would know of the pain that the girl would be going through
Or what would lay in store of the family
That was all smiles to begin with
But the smile was now faded away
It wasn't their fault
Somewhere mobs burn a city down
Killing people from different sects
Somewhere girls are differentiated from boys
Education is something they can just dream of
Somewhere records are made and broken
And feats are revered and people are plunged to the open skies
This was when the sky was blue, the canvas was a picturesque one
Trains passed by, traffic was cars and honks
Music resonated from the sounds of the ears
As the day went on
Without a passing thought
And as the blue skies turn to black
Smoke engulfed as pyres were lit
Silence was all that was there
A deafening one, it was
Grey getting immersed with the black
These are the stories that are untold
Stories that will remain just that
Scars that are there for life
Wounds that will never heal
Words, that are battered and bruised
The cries seem so distant now
The pain we think we feel
We come out in want for justice and peace
Only to go back to the comfort of our homes
And then it all dies down
Life for us begins anew
We think we have done our bit and deed.
And then we say as a nation we are free.
But are we really free?
Where we need to think a thousand times, before we speak
Where we are judged for our action, sect and creed
Where they say we are one, but we are not acually.
Where boys and girls are not treated at par
Where there is still racism to the root
Where different religion can't be sitting under one roof
Where we love to see people fail
Where dirt and muck is the name of the game
Where the endless sacrifices are taken for granted
Where people are shouting for land and fees
As the hills look down in shame
The buildings are the droopy shoulders
The rivers can't carry this weight no more
The wind tries to ease off the burden
Nature comes to do it's bit
To help bring the glory back
But what can it do when all is left is just devastation
It tries to promise a new dawn
Hoping the storm will open the eyes
Hoping that the wounds will heal
But they don't
Night goes to day and day to night
Freedom is merely just a thousand
Tucked away somewhere in our brains
A thought is from where an idea is born
The idea is from the story is born
May be someday some one will not hush the night
And will actually say how we got free.

Random Mumblings - Dance
Do you know what dance is? Her father asked her. The little girl shook her head. He gently took her in his arms and told her, it's a calling. You don't chose dance, dance choses you and that's the thing about dance - it's takes you to a world unknown.. But why papa, replied the little girl. Why dance? Because, said her father, its the only thing I know. But still papa, it takes you away from the people you love, like it keeps you away from me for so many hours....Her father laughed. It was hard to answer his 5 year questions. One day, she will away from him for long hours...practicing. He thought for a while and said Hmn. You are right. But if dance takes me away from you. It also brings me back to you. You know how? The girl shook her head. Her father smiled and said because it's one of the few things that is common between us. You dance. I dance. See, dance is common between us. But you do a different style and I have just started to learn Kathak. Wow, said the father. Kathak is pretty cool. Your mom always says - dance is a way to bring people together as one. In a world, where there are so many wars, culture plays a role in bringing about peace. You are young, my girl, to understand these things. No, replied the girl. I am big. I am 5. Her father laughed and said yes you are. He knew that may be, right now it was too much to ask for from a girl of 5. He secretly hoped that she would grow to be a fine dancer, a dream that both he and his wife shared....one who would bring dance back to life....one who through her dance, would bring cultures together and bring about some kind of stability and harmony in an otherwise turbulent society.

Random Mumblings - “like these”
It’s nights like these, when Azaan is heard on one end and the dhol on another. When chants resonate up in the air. When the mandir and the masjid are next to each other.
It’s early mornings like these when the sun hasn’t risen as yet. When the Azaan is heard along with the mandir ki ghanti.
Religious beliefs do coexist with one another.

Random Mumblings : Late night thoughts
Random Mumblings!!!! Late night thoughts..
#scatteredthoughts #hopefulromanticme
The night, it seemed had another story to tell... a story that went like this...light prevails amidst darkness...lights that look like fairies waving their wand and sprinkling some magic. Beneath the starry skies, they sing and dance. Laughter ensues, hand in hand, they feel safe and walk back home.
The pages turn, the chapter ends, another chapter begins and end...the last page is now turned. The book is now closed. Snuggled together, In each other arms, holding each other in a tight embrace.
Lights off. Outside the fairies wave their wand. Another couple. Another soul. Another story waiting to be told.
